We re seeking a dedicated medical professional to conduct one-time, in-person compensation and pension (C&P) evaluations for Veterans. This non-treatment role focuses on assessing service-connected conditions by reviewing medical histories, performing focused physical evaluations, and completing Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) electronically. All findings are submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to assist in their disability determination process.
Please note: providers in this role do not diagnose, determine disability status, prescribe, or treat.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review referral requests and any accompanying documentation or notes, including prior exams, service records, and VA questions.
- Conduct structured interviews and physical assessments focused on the Veteran s claimed conditions.
- Accurately complete DBQs and medical opinions using the provided Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system during the visit.
- When applicable, order and interpret diagnostic testing (e.g., lab work, ECGs, spirometry).
- Ensure all documentation is submitted electronically within hours of the appointment.
- Manage urgent or emergent medical or behavioral concerns according to protocol.
Role Essentials:
- Evaluate VA medical records and relevant clinical data for accuracy and completeness.
- Work independently and efficiently while upholding high standards of service and compliance.
- Apply strong time management, communication, and documentation skills.
- Maintain professionalism and compassion while interacting with Veterans, including those accompanied by service animals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.
- Ability to assess all body systems thoroughly and efficiently.
- Experience with EMR platforms and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Commitment to respectful and compassionate care for Veterans of all backgrounds.
- Capacity to work independently and meet established deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience conducting VA disability exams or C&P evaluations.
- Background in clinical or hospital-based care.
