Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) is the leading provider of homeless youth services in the DC Region. Through the holistic integration of its Pillars of Opportunity, Sasha Bruce is able to provide safe homes, life skills, and workforce development to meet the unique needs of homeless youth. For more than 45 years, Sasha Bruce has implemented innovative interventions aimed at bringing an end to youth homelessness in the DC region. Today, its programs in DC and Prince George’s County, MD, reach over 6,500 runaway, homeless, abused, and neglected youth, and their families.

About The Program

The SBY TOP Out of School Time Program serves school age youth in Washington D.C. This program leverages a positive youth development approach aimed at providing homeless youth and youth living in high-crime neighborhoods with a stable and supportive environment in which they can succeed academically. The program also aims to empower youth with the coping skills necessary to process the unique challenges that result from homelessness and community violence to minimize its impact on their overall wellbeing. The Out of School Time Coordinator will oversee the successful coordination of programming and retention of students at OST locations. This is a part-time contract position. Schedule will generally include after school hours Monday - Thursday (or Friday), planning hours and summer programming hours (5 weeks of programming that is 5 hours a day).

Duties and Responsibilities

· Implement, develop, and manage after-school programming and summer out of school time programming; ensures effective weekly planning for programming at designated site(s), including alignment with the school mission and TOP curriculum and community service-learning activities; · Coordinate special speakers and event leaders to host activities and workshops with youth; provide logistical assistance, ensuring workshops are executed as planned; · Coordinate field trips that expose youth to the various cultural and enrichment activities during the school year and summer programming; coordinate transportation, admission, and lunch; · Ensure the implementation of high-quality TOP workshops with fidelity according to the program model and deliverables; · Support the recruitment strategy each program year that meets enrollment targets per site(s); follow up with program participants to retain participants in the program; Develop and implement strategies that maintain or increase student retention and involvement throughout the program year; · Assist in the development of marketing and promotional materials related to program enrollment; · Comply with all data requirements for the OST grant and Wyman Institute Partnership Requirements, including entering participant data, entering attendance, uploading clearances and completing a pre-and post-survey with each participant. · Provide the College & Career Director with timely and accurate documentation of all services provided, including progress reports, court reports, unusual Incident Reports, and case notes as needed. · Attends regular staff development, team meetings, training, and other agency-wide meetings/functions as assigned. · Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; · Minimum 1-2 years experience working with at-risk, runaway, homeless or other at-risk youth required; · Strong communication, facilitation and organizational skills preferred; · Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish a plus · Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed. · Proficient in MS Office, Google Drive, and basic computer functions. · Ability to pass background checks. · This position also requires reliable transportation and daily travel to school sites.
