As the Ambassador Of Delight, you are the architect of unforgettable experiences, transforming each stay into a seamless journey filled with warmth, wonder, and personalized touches. This role is responsible for both one-on-one guest experiences and surprise + delight activations for all in-house guests, bringing unexpected moments of joy to life. From curated welcome gestures to immersive pop-up experiences, you ensure that every touchpoint at The Vendue is meaningful. This role requires close collaboration with key departments, including (but not limited to) the Culinary Team, Art Gallery Director, and GEMs, ensuring that every detailwhether its a bespoke dining experience, an artistic encounter, or a thoughtful surpriseelevates a guests time at The Vendue. Primary Duties And Responsibilities Crafting the Memory (Pre-Arrival & Arrival) Set the Stage: Connect with guests before arrival, learning about their visit to tailor a personalized experience. Curate a Seamless Welcome: Ensure all pre-arrival requests are fulfilled, from room customization to unique welcome gestures. First Impressions Matter: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, offering a personalized introduction and a handcrafted beverage. Storytelling & Connection: Share insights about The Vendues art collection, the history of our property and local area, Charlestons cultural scene, and exclusive local experiences. Orchestrate Effortless Service: Partner with valet, bell staff, and concierge to ensure a smooth, stress-free arrival. Weaving Magic Throughout the Stay Anticipate, Not Just React: Read between the lines of guest interactions to offer thoughtful, unexpected moments. Create the Unexpected: Surprise guests with personalized touches. For example: their favorite dessert, a handwritten note, or a customized itinerary. Culinary Collaboration: Work closely with the Culinary Team to craft unique dining experiences, from exclusive chef tastings to in-room indulgences. Artistic Encounters: Partner with the Art Gallery Director to offer private viewings/tours, and painted bottles of champagne/wine. Seamless Experience Management: Oversee all guest touchpointsdining, amenities, entertainmentto ensure flawless execution. Surprise + Delight Activations: Plan and execute spontaneous, immersive events for in-house guests, such as pop-up cocktail tastings, live art demonstrations, or themed evening experiences. Partner with chefs, bartenders, and artists to create engaging moments that elevate the atmosphere for all guests. Ensure these events feel organic and unexpected, enhancing the overall energy of the hotel without disrupting operations. Leave a Lasting Impression: Go beyond service to create meaningful connections that transform guests into lifelong patrons. Closing the Chapter (Departure & Beyond) Thoughtful Goodbyes: Ensure a seamless departure with personalized farewells and a final memory to take home. Capture the Experience: Gather guest feedback to continuously refine and elevate future stays. Extend the Connection: Follow up post-stay with a thoughtful touchpoint, inviting guests to return and relive the magic. Note that this is not an inclusive list and team members are at times asked to assist with other tasks to best serve the business. Other tasks may be assigned by the Guest Services Manager or other managers. Job Requirements Education & Experience 3 Years of Guest services experience at a Luxury Boutique hotel required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associates or bachelors degree in tourism, hospitality or hotel management is a plus. Skills & Abilities Commitment to service excellence by anticipating guests needs as well as being a natural storyteller. Understand that hospitality is about emotional connection, not just transactions. Skilled at problem solving and finding resolution with guest issues. Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision. Technology proficient with industry standard softwares and applications. Ability to read, speak and understand English in order to follow directions, and procedures, and communicate with the guests and team (using a translator app if necessary). Ability to become TiPS certified within 30 days of employment. Course and certification paid by The Vendue. WORKING CONDITIONS Equipment to Be Used Ipad and desktop computer Phone system POS terminal Serving trays, bus tubs, dump buckets, cleaning tools and supplies Physical & Mental Requirements Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which will include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires Ability to stand for long periods of time. Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to handle equipment and utensils. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Ability to adapt to an ever-changing and sometimes stressful work environment. Work Environment High guest interaction, involving varying conditions and circumstances with guests, team members, and managers. Primarily an indoor job working on multiple surfaces (tile, wood, carpet, concrete) on multiple levels accessed by both elevators and stairs. Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions in order to go between buildings and assist guests arriving or leaving property.
