Overview
Care Partner (Augusta, GA) - Digestive Health Clinic (Gastroenterology) - PRN at Wellstar Health System. This role supports the care team by promoting a positive patient experience and assisting with daily living activities and comfort measures under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Responsibilities
Promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, healthcare team, and other providers to deliver patient-centered care. Assist with daily living activities (ADLs), ambulation, vital signs, and basic patient care functions as directed by licensed professionals. Perform and/or support approved advanced technical skills as required (e.g., phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, discontinuing Foley catheters).. Support clerical tasks such as data retrieval, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies and medications as needed. Work in a fast-paced environment with effective communication among the healthcare team; maintain professionalism under stress. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and privacy procedures. Participate in hourly patient rounding and respond promptly to telephone calls and call lights, escalating to the appropriate team member as needed. Assist in care delivery, admission, and ongoing patient support under RN direction; monitor safety and contribute to the plan of care as assigned. Document care activities and update the care team on patient status in the EMR; ensure real-time communication of concerns or emergencies. Support teamwork, unit performance improvement initiatives, and adherence to professional nursing practice and ethical accountability. Qualifications
Required Minimum Education
Rising Senior in good standing High School Diploma (General) or GED; Medical Assisting - Preferred Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)
BLS Basic Life Support (Instructor or Provider) Required CNA Certified Nurse Assistant Preferred Required Minimum Experience
Must be 16 years of age or older Required Minimum Skills
Ability to follow detailed directions Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to document clearly; able to work independently and as part of a team General adaptability to Wellstar minimum hiring age of 16 Additional Information
