Design Engineer Goodfield, IL- Full Time

is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Goodfield, IL. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will provide leadership and support to the manufacturing teams to create a safe, productive and profitable environment. This role will plan and facilitate the work of team members to support on-time completion of production schedules, quality, housekeeping, and safety objectives. This role will develop high performance work teams with ongoing coaching and direction, both formal and informal, enabling a People First Culture.
Duties: Develop and refine 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings for mechanical components and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and product validation, to ensure designs meet cost, quality, and performance targets. Conduct tolerance stack-ups, engineering calculations, and design reviews to verify product integrity. Support the prototype and testing phase, interpreting test data and making design adjustments as needed. Work within established engineering standards, design guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Participate in design change processes (ECNs/ECIs) and maintain accurate design documentation. Provide technical support to manufacturing, field service, and suppliers during production and post-launch phases. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product design, reduce costs, and improve reliability.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 2–5 years of experience in product design, preferably within the agricultural equipment, off-highway vehicles, or heavy machinery industry. Proficiency with CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent) for modeling and drafting. Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and other design validation tools. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, casting, sheet metal, plastics, etc.). Solid knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and industry drawing standards. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
