The successful candidate will analyze complex business processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements while ensuring compliance with customer standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and experience in process optimization. Candidates must possess an active Secret clearance and be ready to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Position Description:

The Classification Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, focusing on analyzing, documenting, and improving classification-related business processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze existing classification business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement

  • Design and document improved business processes that meet operational needs while maintaining compliance with customer standards

  • Define detailed product requirements and develop comprehensive use cases for classification systems

  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of needs and solutions

  • Participate actively in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Maintain and nurture client relationships through effective communication and regular engagement

  • Assist team members with cost reduction strategies, knowledge sharing, and work product improvements

  • Identify potential issues and provide regular status updates on project scope and deliverables

  • Facilitate both Agile and Waterfall methodologies to manage various classification projects and initiatives

  • Create and maintain Communication Plans and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM)

  • Document as-is and to-be processes to support system and procedural improvements

  • Support the team in meeting deadlines, maintaining workflows, and adhering to quality standards

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably in classification systems

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Experience with requirements gathering and documentation techniques

  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall project environments

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Active Secret clearance (must be current)

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to assess processes and identify improvements

  • Experience documenting business requirements and creating use cases

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

  • Familiarity with Communication Plans and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)

  • Strong problem-solving skills to assess process gaps and recommend best practice solutions

  • Ability to manage time effectively against workload

  • Experience serving as a liaison between technical and business stakeholders

  • Strong collaboration skills and team-oriented mindset

  • Adaptability to changing priorities and requirements

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience with classification systems and related workflows

  • Ability to effectively develop, refine and document as-is and to-be processes

  • Experience performing analysis and implementing improvements based on findings

  • Familiarity with Scrum or other related agile methodologies

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM

  • Proficiency with Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Visio

  • Experience working in government contracting environments

  • Business analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, or similar)

  • Experience with process modeling and documentation tools

  • Knowledge of data security and classification protocols
