Member Services Representative III

Position Summary
Processes financial transactions efficiently, accurately, and with the highest level of customer service. Incorporates Service Plus into all aspects of member contacts and continually builds relationships with members in order to retain and build memberships. Responsible for managing financial center vault cash, currency and negotiable items. Meet assigned share, deposit, lending and referral partner targets. Support Credit Union in all Initiatives with a positive attitude and willingness to get the job done.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receives and processes members' financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. Sells Cashier's checks to members efficiently, accurately, and with the highest level of customer service. Incorporates Service Plus into all aspects of member contacts and continually builds relationships with members in order to retain and build memberships. Analyzes members' financial needs and effectively cross-sells products and services through effective referrals handled according to Service Plus guidelines. Overcomes member's objections during sales conversations and offers products and services that best fit the member's financial and personal needs. Ensures member retention through consistent quality service. Perform member account maintenance; accept stop payments, address changes, order debit/ATM cards, process credit card advances, receives currency coin and verifies amount. Responsible for managing branch vault currency, coin and negotiable items. Cashes checks according to written procedures Orders currency and coin ensuring to meet branch and member needs within approved financial center cash limits. Balances vault cash and secures at the end of the day. Provides assistance to Member Service Representative II (MSR II) when required; may have higher override and approval authority. May also assist scheduling breaks and lunch rest periods. Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services; bank regulations and bank operations/audit functions. Complete all assigned BSA compliance/regulatory training within stated deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned. Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years prior Credit Union or Banking Experience, required Experience with branch operations such as vault responsibility preferred. A high school degree or equivalent Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with customers and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding fairly routine matters for the purposes of giving and obtaining information or instructions, updating or referring. Communications require shorter and not in-depth discussions most of the time. Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to promote all credit union products and services to members and overcome objections and concerns. Must be PC literate; experience with banking software a plus. Target Range: $24.32 to $30.40* * The target range for entry in a new position is between the minimum and midpoint of the range, depending on experience and qualifications
