Turn Consumer Insights into Innovation:
At Cosmos, we create products that connect with consumers by blending creativity, insights, and strategy. As a Brand Specialist, you’ll play a key role in developing products in consumer-packaged goods within the pet space. This means studying the competitive landscape of pet products, identifying consumer and market trends and turning those insights into innovative product and brand solutions. This role is perfect for someone who loves digging into consumer insights, spotting cultural shifts, and shaping products that stand out. We’re looking for a proactive, resourceful self-starter—someone with a can-do attitude who thrives in ambiguity, takes initiative, and finds solutions without needing constant direction.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Consumer & Market Insights Stay ahead of consumer and category trends, cultural shifts, and competitor activity to uncover opportunities for consumer-packaged goods innovation. Translate insights from research, customer feedback, and market data into tactics that shape product development and brand positioning. Support and/or manage testing initiatives to validate product concepts and ensure they resonate with consumers. Partner with Sales to understand retailer needs and gatekeeper insights. Brand & Product Development Turn insights into actionable recommendations for packaging updates, product solutions, and feature/benefit enhancements that support the brand’s voice, mission, and growth goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new concepts for desirability, feasibility, and profitability. Partner with creative teams to develop brand visuals—across packaging, merchandising, and promotional campaigns—that align with consumer trends and reinforce the brand strategy. Support go-to-market planning, ensuring launches balance consumer needs with commercial goals. Collaboration & Teamwork Partner with Marketing Leads, Design, Sales, and external agencies to ensure brand messaging is consistent across digital, social, retail, and customer experience channels. Assist with product line reviews and customer presentations, providing consumer-driven insights to strengthen pitches. Manage projects with internal teams, agencies, and vendor partners, ensuring timelines and brand standards are met. Requirements:
What You’ll Need to Succeed: Education : BS/MS in Marketing, Advertising, or related field. Experience : 3+ years in brand management, ideally in CPG. Skills : Passion for consumer research and trend spotting Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication Analytical mindset with creative problem-solving Experience working with designers on packaging design Self-starter with a can-do attitude who can dive into ambiguity with action
A Day in the Life:
Around here, no two days look the same—and honestly, that’s what makes it exciting. Some mornings you might be diving into trend reports or consumer insights to spot what’s next. By the afternoon, you’re bouncing ideas around with the creative team on packaging or reviewing feedback from a retailer to tweak a concept.
You’ll probably be proof reading packaging copy, jumping in a PowerPoint to help shape a new product presentation, and then shift gears to problem-solve something unexpected (because surprises always pop up). Through it all, you’ll be working with a group of smart, supportive people who know how to have fun, even when things get a little hectic.
It’s fast-paced, sometimes a little messy, but never boring. And unlike a big, cold corporation, Cosmos is a place where your ideas matter, your voice is heard, and your wins—big or small—get celebrated.
