Cloud Software Engineer, Advisor at Peraton Laurel, Maryland. This role has telework flexibility and would require some after hours on-call support. What You'll Do
Design & Develop: Lead agile software design and development, creating innovative solutions for high-performance services hosted on massive compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Optimize & Enhance: Implement testing, performance tuning, and optimization for cloud-native applications, ensuring high availability and efficiency. Collaborate: Work closely with a dynamic, cross-functional team to innovate and sustain our cloud-based services. Support: Provide operational and sustainment support with occasional after-hours and on-call responsibilities. Impact: Contribute to mission-critical projects that shape the future of cyber solutions. What You Bring
AWS Expertise: Strong experience designing and developing AWS Cloud Architecture. Cloud Tools Mastery: Proficiency with AWS SDKs/APIs and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform. DevOps: Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration, Deployment, Testing, and Monitoring. Java: Expertise in Java for distributed systems, with networking and multi-threading knowledge. Big Data: Experience with Apache Hadoop, Accumulo, and NiFi. Agile Mindset: Strong believer in agile development methodologies. Linux & Scripting: Solid Linux fundamentals with scripting (Python, Ruby, or Perl). Source Control: Familiarity with Git, Maven, Jira, and related tools. Containerization: Knowledge of microservices and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes). Open Source: Willingness to contribute to open-source projects. Position Requirements
An active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required. Eight years of software development/engineering experience across requirements analysis, development, installation, integration, evaluation, maintenance, testing, and problem resolution. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; degrees in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar are acceptable. Without a degree, four additional years of experience may be considered. Masters degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to two years of experience. One of the following Cloud Certifications is required: AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, CKAD. Peraton Benefits & Opportunities
