GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

A Job Coach is responsible for serving as a liaison between employers and the Placement Program to ensure that work is performed according to the employer’s specifications, for training or observing consumers in community jobs, and ensuring that progress is being made toward the consumer’s I.S.P. goals. Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with CWTC’s mission, policies, and in a manner that supports individuals with disabilities. All employees are required to attend mandated training sessions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Train community placed consumers in their assigned duties Document consumer performance (chron notes, evaluation forms, etc) and submit in required time frame Gain knowledge of job consumer will be placed into and train consumer in employer’s work procedures If necessary, help consumer complete the work so the employer’s quotas are met Provide transportation as needed OTHER DUTIES: Assist with instructional programming following established curriculum as needed Assist with job club meetings or events Work on the production floor if needed Perform other tasks, not inconsistent with qualifications or regular duties as assigned WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical conditions include lifting up to 30 pounds, bending, standing, sitting, being self-ambulatory, and being able to drive. Environmental conditions include working in heat or cold, working with chemicals, and working in production facilities. Interpersonal conditions include the ability to direct consumer work and behavior in a tactful and effective manner. RELATED CONDITION: All employees are responsible for reporting any information, however acquired, pertaining to possible abuse or neglect of consumers to the Director of Quality Improvement, the Safety Director, or the Executive Director. SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION: Employees must follow all safety policies and use necessary protective equipment when applicable. Employees are responsible for reporting safety hazards and/or accidents to their supervisors immediately.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent Able to communicate and write effectively Valid drivers’ license, current auto insurance and reliable transportation Must be able to work one weekend day each week Experience working with MR/MI helpful
