What You'll Do:
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Drive tractor-trailer combination or 5-axle/Quad-Axle dump truck to transport and deliver materials. Inspect and Maintain. Inspect truck for defects before and after trips. Keep tractor, trailer, tri-axle, tailgate, apron, and dump bed clean of loose material (such as rocks, dirt, etc.) and in good working order. Perform weekly tire inspections. Submit Reports. Submit report indicating truck condition after trips. Maintain a driver log according to I.C. regulations. Follow Standard Procedures. Follow and maintain standards set for all equipment. Tarp/Secure all loads. Load and unload material safely. Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities such as cleaning all areas on the vehicle, climbing a ladder to inspect loads of aggregate/hot-mix, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Additional Responsibilities.
