Job Description
Department: Warehouse
Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Summary: Responsible for all operational activities within the Warehouse Department. Responsible for shipping and receiving trucks, case pick and full pallet orders, put away, product distribution, returns and etc.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Put-away all inbound freight according to procedural standards.
- Picking and Shipping customers orders as well as 3PL items as procedural standards.
- Product Distribution to and from Manufacturing.
- FIFO/FEFO Rotation.
- Ensures warehouse stocking area is clean and well maintained, in accordance with federal, state, and local safety rules.
Organization:
- Receives and tags items in the warehouse with barcode labels, pallet tags, allergen stickers etc.
- Ensures stocked items are organized, allergen separated and readily accessible.
Stock Inspection:
- Examines items in inventory for defects, damage and reports this information to Inventory Control Department.
- Reports any and all quality defects of ingredients to the Quality control team.
Skills/Experience
- Must have RF scanning system knowledge.
- Previously trained operated reach and hi-lows.
- Knowledge of FIFO system.
- Ability to work off pick lists and system driven reports.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication skills; verbally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
- Ability to build excellent working relationships and work collaboratively and efficiently with others.
- Exhibit self-motivation, confidence, energy, & ability to operate under pressure.
- Detail oriented with standard mathematical acumen.
- Sound understanding and application of safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to use warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft software, i.e., Word, Excel.
- Standard ability to apply general mathematical concepts.
Work Environment
- Dry, refrigerated and Freezer conditions.
- Regularly works near moving machinery and mechanical parts sometimes in high places.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high.
- Products manufactured in the facility may contain peanuts, milk and tree nuts.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for the duration of the production shift. In addition, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
- The employee is frequently required to sit; climb; balance, stoop, and kneel or crouch.
- Regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Experience/Qualifications
- High School Diploma and one year warehousing operation, or any equivalent combination of education and experience to include two (2) years of experience using a forklift and reach truck and knowledge of experience using order picker and scissor lift.
- Two years minimum experience with RF scanning systems.
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Fingernails shall be kept trim and clean. No fingernail polish, decals, inserts, false nails, or nail extenders are allowed.
- Full length pants must be worn at all times.
- Shoe types that are prohibited from entering into production areas include; sandals, open heels, and open toe shoes.
- Jewelry is not allowed in areas of production, packaging, or warehouse that are within 10’ of exposed products or raw materials. Jewelry includes rings (with Stones), watches, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, ankle bracelets, and so forth. Plain Wedding bands with no stones are permitted. The sole exception is for medical alert devices (the preferred device being a necklace or ankle bracelet worn below clothing).
