Summary of duties and responsibilities We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will support key financial accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, and journal entries, while also supporting Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a solid foundation in accounting principles and advanced Excel skills. This role supports accurate financial reporting by reconciling bank statements, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and supporting both internal and external audits. The Junior Accountant will also collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and contribute to the preparation of financial statements and reports. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Assist with reconciliation of general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial records. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring financial statements are prepared on time. Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and credit memos, applying and tracking customer payments, and following up on outstanding balances and customer overpayments. Exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, particularly in applying accounting policies, analyzing data, and recommending solutions to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Experience (Entry Level): 0-2 years of accounting experience. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, and data analysis tools. Experience with other data analytics tools such as Power BI, and Alteryx is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hybrid environment. Knowledge of financial reporting and reconciliations, including preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents. Familiarity with accounting principles such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and experience applying them in day-to-day operations. Education requirement : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Related Field Alternative Degrees: In some cases, a bachelor’s degree in business administration or economics may be acceptable, provided the candidate has completed relevant accounting coursework Physical Activities/ Requirements Office-Desk Job Manual dexterity and sitting are required in carrying out own responsibilities (i.e. use of personal computers). Ability to efficiently operate all job-related office equipment. Ability to communicate via telephone and work in virtual teams. Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
