Primary Role
An Apprentice Electrician at Global Electric works under the direct supervision of a Journeyman or Master Electrician to learn and develop the skills of the trade while assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. The apprentice is expected to follow instructions, support project execution, and actively engage in training to advance toward Journeyman-level competency.
Requirements:
- Global Electric will require a minimum of 2000 to 6000 documented TDLR hours Global will require a drug test before employment
- Global will require a 3a CerƟfied (MVR) driving record
Key Responsibilities:
Learning & Development
- Actively participate in on-the-job training under Journeyman or Master Electricians.
- Attend and complete any required classroom, certification, or safety training programs.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Study and apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local code requirements.
- Build proficiency in using electrical tools, equipment, and materials.
Electrical InstallaƟon & Support:
- Assist Journeyman Electricians with the installation of conduit, wiring, panels, lighting, and other electrical components.
- Pull wire, install boxes, hang fixtures, and mount devices as directed.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend conduit accurately.
- Prepare materials, organize tools, and set up work areas for efficient operations.
- Perform routine electrical tasks under direct supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all Global Electric, OSHA, and NEC safety policies and procedures.
- Wear and maintain proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents to supervisors.
- Learn and follow lockout/tagout, fall protection, ladder/lift safety, and confined space procedures.
Project Support:
- Assist in material handling, loading/unloading, and staging for installation.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies assigned to the crew.
- Provide labor support such as digging trenches, moving materials, or lifting heavy equipment as needed.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while supporting Journeyman electricians in meeting project deadlines.
Teamwork & Communication:
- Take direction from Journeyman, Foremen, or Project Managers and execute tasks accordingly.
- Work cooperatively with other apprentices, electricians, and trades.
- Demonstrate professionalism with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ask questions when uncertain to ensure safe and correct execution of work.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Accurately track and record hours worked for apprenticeship requirements.
- Document progress and competencies achieved during training.
- Communicate daily with supervisors about tasks completed and next steps.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Enrollment in (or eligibility for) a state-approved electrical apprenticeship program.
- Basic understanding of electrical tools, equipment, and materials.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow directions.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor (lifting, climbing, bending, working in confined spaces).
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
