This is a hybrid role reporting to our San Jose or San Francisco office. Responsibilities Coordinate project designs, evaluations, and studies. Quality control review of designs prepared by others. Lead project team in design change management. Coordinate and assemble overall design team proposals, including estimating in-house engineering. Manage contract administration, scheduling, and costing. Establish project budgets and schedules. Track project timelines, expenditures, and project deliverables and report to client and AlfaTech Management. Orchestrate and lead project kick-off meetings, coordination meetings, and design review meetings for the project team. Manage tasks to ensure work is completed on time and within budget. Communicate directly with clients and act as the primary point of contact for AlfaTech. Coordinate, support, and communicate with colleagues across disciplines. Lead interactions with local municipalities and contractor teams for permitting and construction activities. Monitor and manage contracted services to align with contracted scope; prepare additional service requests as needed. Maintain client relationships through prompt responses to needs and questions, or when information is needed. Staff oversight and mentoring. Capable of working in the field on a construction site. Arrange construction site walkthroughs and lead project team meetings. Ensure that the clients specified performance criteria are met. Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
Demonstrated experience as a self-directed, pro-active, and highly motivated team leader. Detail-oriented with high levels of math accuracy. Good problem solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external business partners. Solid knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes. Proclivity for catching errors and enacting appropriate changes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and Procore. Professional Engineer (PE) License or Architectural (AIA) License. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. LEED Accreditation and/or WELL Certification. Data Center experience.
Essential Requirements
Superior interpersonal communication skills. Superior written communication skills. Experience working on large-scale design and construction projects. Experience on highly technical design and construction projects such as Mission Critical, Cleanroom, or Manufacturing projects. Minimum of ten to fifteen years of direct experience with an architectural or consulting engineering firm. 5 years of experience managing a team of multiple building design disciplines. Bachelors degree in engineering or architecture or an equivalent combination of work experience and relevant education.
Salary & Location
This is a hybrid role with expected in-office days in San Francisco or San Jose, CA. The salary range for candidates working in San Francisco, CA is $130,000 - $165,000.
