Job Summary: Come join our dynamic, highly skilled Interventional Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) team. Interventional Cardiology is a subspecialty focused on catheter-based diagnostic tests and interventions including closure of septal defects, angioplasty and stenting of arteries, valve replacements and recanalization of obstructed vessels or valves. The Interventional Cardiology NP (inpatient and outpatient hybrid role) has clinical, procedural, administrative and educational responsibilities in the care of patients requiring medical management of ACHD and procedures related to the care and coordination of chronic ACHD diagnoses.

Location and Schedule: Cardiology Clinic, Full Time. Location: San Francisco, CA (Mission Bay). Work Style: Fully On-Site. Shift: Days. Shift Length: 8 Hours. Additional Shift Details: M-F, 8 Hours.

Compensation: The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy. Salary range for this position is $100.48 - $130.31 per hour. Placement within the range depends on work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the collective bargaining agreement. Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master’s degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • Minimum three (3) years related experience as an NP.
  • Minimum two (2) years Ambulatory Cardiology NP experience or a combination of Ambulatory and Inpatient Cardiology experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years NP experience in related ICU heart and vascular services (e.g., ACHD, valve and structural heart, cardiac surgery, electrophysiology and heart failure).
  • Flexibility to work with various schedules as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year Advanced Practice Provider experience in General Cardiology or a Cardiology Sub-specialty in the ambulatory setting.
  • Ambulatory Epic experience in the Advanced Practice Provider role.
  • Advanced cardiac assessment skills – reviewing EKGs, heart sounds, and signs of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
  • Understanding cardiac procedures and tests – stress testing, echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, Holter monitoring.
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular pharmacology and medications (anticoagulants, beta blockers, ACE inhibitors).
  • Management of ACHD and chronic cardiac conditions (heart failure, CAD, hypertension, arrhythmias, hyperlipidemia).

License/Certification

  • California RN license without restriction
  • California Certified Nurse Practitioner without restriction
  • California NP Furnishing Number with Schedule II privileges
  • NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency
  • California Driver License (if required for position)
  • DEA Registration with Schedules 2-5 registered to a California address
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); additional AHA certifications as required

UCSF Medical Center credentialing is typically completed through the Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to first working day. Credentialing and approval of Standardized Procedures may take 60-90 days and can vary.
