Job Overview

The Executive Assistant will provide executive support to the Dean of the Earth Commons as well as supporting the day to day operations of the Earth Commons and its activities. This role will independently assume ownership of the Dean's calendar utilizing strategic gatekeeping and prioritization. Applies thorough context and knowledge of priorities on an organization level, with awareness of the broader organization and external events. Utilizes strategic resolution of conflicts in a timely and collaborative manner with minimal oversight. Incumbent will provide meeting, event, and other scheduling support. Position will assist the Dean and Earth Commons senior team with day to day tasks such as calendar management, meeting facilitation, and event and travel planning/logistics. The Executive Assistant will work closely with the operations team to provide efficient support for the Earth Commons and its ongoing projects, and will support HR functions in partnership with faculty leaders. Work Interactions

This position will report directly to the Chief of Staff. The Earth Commons is a fast-growing institute committed to furthering the interdisciplinary study of environment and sustainability. In order to effectively implement a successful campus wide Institute, the Earth Commons needs a solid administrative team to support executive level staff and multidisciplinary faculty in the areas of scheduling, executive assistance, event support, and operations. Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and 3-5 years' experience of providing administrative support in a busy, dynamic environment, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Executive calendar management and event planning will be a core component of this role.

Candidates should have experience using Gmail, Google Apps, and MS Word, Excel.

The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail skills, and excellent communication (written & verbal) skills.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of scheduling experience for departments, senior staff or large events.

Commitment to environmental and sustainability causes, especially in an academic/ liberal arts context, as well as vibrant events serving a diverse community

Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $21.16 - $35.29 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
