Minimum Qualifications: Three years of secretarial or clerical work experience. Preferred Requirements: A bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred. Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, the Purchasing Card system, and State of Florida purchasing processes preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience with computers, including the Microsoft Office software package, especially Word and Excel; professional office/secretarial/accounting experience with filing, bookkeeping, and customer service. Description of duties: THIS IS an OPS POSITION. IT IS NOT CAREER SERVICE. The Division of Habitat and Species Conservation is comprised of six Sections and two offices. An exciting opportunity exists for a Staff Assistant to join a team of employees within the Wildlife and Habitat Management Section in supporting the management of the Babcock Webb Wildlife Management Area. FWC's Southwest Region is seeking a motivated applicant that can provide secretarial and staff support for the District Biologist, Babcock-Webb WMA lead area biologist and staff. Activities in support of these positions include: 1) processing invoices, requisitions, purchasing card charges, and other administrative paperwork; 2) assisting with procurement of commodities and services; 3) assisting in developing and tracking operational budgets and plans; 4) preparing and organizing all correspondence and project-related files; 5) providing routine clerical support, including managing correspondence, maintaining stocks of office supplies, and photocopying; 6) maintaining calendars and making meeting or travel arrangements; 7) researching and assembling data for reports; 8) receiving and routing telephone calls; 9) responding to public requests for publications, rules, status of projects, and other information; 10) providing assistance to other sections/offices/divisions; and 11) completing other duties as assigned or needed.
