As a Parking Lot Attendant / Houseman at Holiday Inn Express - Fort Pierce, you will play a vital role in both the safety of the hotels parking facilities and the smooth operation of the propertys housekeeping and public areas. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and patrolling parking areas to ensure guest and employee security, assisting guests with parking needs, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming hotel environment. In addition, you will be cross-trained in the Houseman role, providing essential support to the housekeeping team and assisting with the cleanliness and functionality of hotel facilities.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a wide variety of tasks that enhance the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Parking Lot Security and Monitoring:
Conduct regular patrols of the hotel parking areas to ensure safety and prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas for unusual or suspicious activity.
Verify that vehicles are parked in designated spaces and comply with hotel parking policies.
Document and report any security incidents, hazards, or violations promptly.
Guest Assistance (Parking & Hotel Facilities):
Provide courteous assistance to guests with parking directions, vehicle access, or luggage support when needed.
Assist guests with special requests or needs related to hotel facilities, delivering items to guest rooms or addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly, professional demeanor.
Traffic Flow and Event Support:
Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic during peak times, special events, or emergencies.
Assist in coordinating parking for guests, employees, and vendors to maximize efficiency.
Support valet or front desk teams as needed.
Houseman Responsibilities (Cross-Trained Role):
Regularly clean and maintain the hotels public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms.
Ensure that all common areas are tidy, well-organized, and free of hazards.
Assist housekeeping staff with restocking supplies, moving furniture, or handling special cleaning projects.
Help with room preparation for special events or high-occupancy periods.
Report any maintenance issues, such as broken fixtures or malfunctioning equipment, to the maintenance department.
Assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks as required.
Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and materials needed for public area upkeep.
Ensure proper storage and organization of supplies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in security, parking services, housekeeping, or hospitality is an asset.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Physical stamina to walk, patrol, lift, and move heavy objects; ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
