Job Summary
Vista Health is seeking a full-time
GI Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
to join our Gastroenterology team. This provider will deliver comprehensive patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings, performing assessments, managing GI conditions, coordinating care, and supporting patients through procedures and treatment plans. Key Responsibilities
Provide full-time, 40-hour per week clinical coverage.
Conduct patient histories, physical exams, and comprehensive assessments.
Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of GI conditions, including GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and pancreatitis.
Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Prescribe medications and therapies within state scope of practice regulations.
Assist with pre- and post-procedure evaluations for endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other GI procedures.
Provide education to patients and families regarding disease management, medications, diet, and lifestyle changes.
Collaboration & Coordination Partner with supervising
gastroenterologists
to optimize patient outcomes.
Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, dieticians, and other care team members.
Participate in inpatient consults, hospital rounds, and outpatient clinic visits.
Support smooth transitions of care, including discharge planning and follow-up.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements
Activity Levels:
May include sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and pushing (weights up to 50 lbs frequently; occasional heavier loads with assistance).
Sensory Requirements:
Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with or without assistance.
Other:
May be exposed to infectious diseases, emergency situations, irregular hours, and may be required to wear protective equipment.
Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure:
Daily.
Qualifications
Education Master's degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
Experience Prior gastroenterology or internal medicine experience preferred, but not required.
Licensure & Certification Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
Certification by a recognized national body (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA).
Active state license to practice.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Other Requirements Ability to provide care across all patient age groups.
Travel to other Vista Health sites may be required.
On-call and call-in support required, including support at other Vista Health locations as needed.
