Position Summary : The Plant Services Operator position is responsible for sorting discarded items from the plant onto designated trailers, compactors, and bins for proper disposal. Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities: Sort trash when brought to trash room (cardboard/plastic/wood and trash) Take all cardboard and put in baler (manual load process) When the baler is full, put baling wire around the bale and remove from the baler and stage to go to the recycle trailers Dump meat in v-ram and separate plastic line from cardboard Move plastic pallets and tubs from the trash room to the end of the hall to be picked up for washing Take wood pallets that are broken and stage to go in the recycle area Keep hallway, trash room floor, and area around dumpsters clean throughout the day Make sure appropriate marking (blue dye-denatured) is on meat pending disposal, then stage in trash room to be put in v-ram Pack out trash compactors before they are pulled (GFL to pick up) Operate v-ram and dumper. Stage empty barrels on a pallet, when pallet is complete, send to recycling trailer Put any metal that comes in the trash room in the metals bin, then when it's complete, stage it for the lull driver to empty in the metal recycle open top Send tubs and pallets tagged as bad to the recycling area

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience operating: Forklift and/or Electric Pallet Jack Must be able to become certified in operating a Forklift and an Electric pallet jack Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements : Standing 8

10 hours per day. Lifting to 50 lbs. Bending, stooping, twisting, and squatting. Working Conditions/Department Description: May work in hot/cold and indoor/outdoor environments Trash room

Job assignments are subject to the supervisors discretion, and job duties may vary day-to-day depending on production needs.
