Job Summary
With reporting responsibilities to the Warehouse Manager, this position is directly responsible for performing essential warehouse functions in a safety-sensitive and production environment, including Warehouse Operations, Shipping/Receiving, Packaging Operations, Inventory maintenance, and light maintenance. The role includes training new staff when requested, record keeping, and communicating issues with management. Additional duties may be added or deleted at any time.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Warehouse Operations
- Unloads goods and material received, enters information into the system, labels and locates material.
- Separates customer orders, pulls and stages orders, and repacks material if required to meet customer specifications; boxes, packs, labels, and locates materials as needed.
- Ensures all products are properly labeled.
- Performs designated system transactions to receive or ship material as required.
- Participates in cycle counting; enters and verifies information, researches and makes adjustments as necessary.
- Reviews preventative maintenance check sheets for forklifts and ensures good working order of machines.
- Conducts daily equipment inspections and ensures inspection paperwork is completed and submitted daily (e.g., forklift, transfer system, and compressor inspections).
- Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations; maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
- Participates in daily safety briefings and monthly safety meetings.
- Participates in operations training and development programs and demonstrates a positive attitude at all times.
- May be required to handle the accumulation, disposal, and transportation of hazardous waste; if required, must participate in prerequisite training to meet RCRA waste management requirements.
- Operates forklifts, scissor lifts, reach trucks, rail movers or other heavy-duty material movers when properly certified to operate; never operates any equipment without documented certification.
- Reviews receipts and shipments to ensure documentation matches incoming or outgoing material.
- Relocates goods and tracks/records relocations as necessary; maintains meticulous records of shipping/receiving documentation.
- Packaging Operation
- Monitors and conducts the day-to-day operation of packaging operations.
- Helps maintain inventories related to packaging and warehouse operations through communication with management.
- Reports operational problems to the Warehouse Manager and ensures production documentation is correct and submitted promptly.
- Ensures safety and production procedures are followed and maintains a clean work environment with good housekeeping practices.
- Maintenance
- Performs routine and/or required light maintenance on packaging equipment.
- Supervises outside maintenance work and contractors when requested by management.
- Ensures safety procedures are followed during machine outages and/or maintenance; maintains detailed maintenance inspection records and logs.
- Communicates all equipment issues with the Warehouse Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift and must pass site forklift certification.
- Ability to think independently and make decisions in the company’s best interest.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills; able to multi-task and handle many activities simultaneously.
- Must be able to work overtime, long hours, weekends and holidays when needed.
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous warehousing experience is preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse setting, involving regular use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. Associates are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and carry materials throughout their shifts. The environment may vary in temperature and requires adherence to safety standards. Teamwork, attention to detail, and reliability are essential for success.
Physical Demands

- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must be able to perform physical labor such as lifting up to 55 lbs., moving up to 250 pounds, climbing ladders, operating control panels and hand tools.
- Vision requirements include close vision for printed materials and distance vision to identify objects and markings; peripheral vision, depth perception and focus at safe working distances.

This is a full-time position. Must be able to work overtime, long hours, weekends and holidays when needed.

Compensation
$20 - $23 per hour, non-exempt, based on experience.
