Overview
Teacher role at Battle Ground Public Schools.
Location: River HomeLink School. 2025-2026 School Year. Elementary Kindergarten Teacher.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a program of study to follow state and district standards that meet the individual needs and abilities of students by providing effective, differentiated instruction using research-based practices.
- Implement instructional methods and materials appropriate for achieving stated objectives, including use of technology.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum outcomes.
- Collaborate with staff to plan, develop, and implement a course of instruction designed to meet the needs of students in all curriculum areas.
- Educate special needs students within the regular classroom environment in collaboration with other staff.
- Create a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning for all students.
- Develop effective, positive techniques for improving student behavior in collaboration with staff.
- Participate in State, Federal and District testing requirements.
- Provide positive supports and guidance to a diverse population.
- Manage student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
- Assess students’ academic learning and/or skills to provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding progress, expectations, and goals.
- Advise parents/guardians of student progress to support expectations and reinforce classroom goals.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely records as required by law and district policy, including attendance, IEP information, progress reports, and classroom inventory.
- Confer with colleagues, administrators, students and/or parents when necessary.
- Collaborate with school personnel and parents to improve student performance and plan curriculum.
- Uphold school rules, Administrative Regulations and Board Policy.
- Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude in responsibilities as a faculty member.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning events, and grade level/department/PLC/job-alike meetings.
- Participate in school activities and events as part of the total building program.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate appropriate for elementary education.
- Working knowledge of WA State Essential Academic Learning Requirements and Grade Level Expectations.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Successfully complete Washington State Patrol background check. Employee is responsible for cost of background check.
- Flexibility, strong communication and collaboration skills, positive student relationships, and willingness to participate in a team environment.
- Regular, consistent attendance.
- Uphold District Policies and administrative procedures.
- Knowledge of curriculum integration and commitment to professional development.
- Ability to use research-based instructional strategies with emphasis on reading, writing, and mathematics; knowledge of technology integration.
- Commitment to diversity and positive attitudes with students and adults.
- Demonstrated willingness to work independently and with a team.
- Character to act as a role model as per RCW requirements.
Terms of Employment
Continuing contract for the 2025-2026 school year with salary and benefits described in the district documents.
