Delivery Driver Job Description
This position involves delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. The driver ensures deliveries are complete, correctly packed, and safely delivered to the right customer. Accountability includes customer satisfaction and transporting items safely and promptly. The selected individual will work at Store #7711, located at: 13815 Santa Fe Crossings Dr. Edmond OK 73013.
Job duties include customer contact, which may involve minors; access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other valuable items. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. The company conducts criminal history reviews to ensure safety and protect its operations, staff, customers, vendors, contractors, and the public.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Legally authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
- Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) from a DOT-licensed examiner on the FMCSA registry or willing to obtain one within five business days of conditional offer
- Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- At least one year experience as a delivery driver
- Experience using material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Previous experience selling paint and related products
- Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish
Responsibilities
- Prepare deliveries to meet customer requirements efficiently
- Load customer orders properly on the truck
- Complete appropriate forms
- Transport and deliver items safely and timely
- Maintain the store vehicle and report repair needs
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints
- Follow routes and schedules
- Follow transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
- Prepare delivery reports and documents
- Operate equipment such as cars, trucks, forklifts
- Perform store tasks including warehouse duties, tinting, and order mixing
