Job Summary

An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout assigned locations or region. Electrical jobs include maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
• Install, adjust and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges and instruments
• Troubleshoot, evaluate and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications
• Ensure that manufacturers standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
• Maintain good housekeeping
• Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times
• Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications

• 5 years electrical maintenance experience
• 3 years experience in aggregate, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred
• Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4,160 volts
• Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
• High school graduate; associate degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance preferred
• Able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual a plus
• Be able to read, write, and speak English

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Computer literate and able to use existing systems and grow into company networked programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• SAP experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills
• Able to read and understand English sufficiently to interpret technical information in manuals and reports
• Able to read and use mechanical, electrical and structural sketches, blueprints and drawings
• Good mathematical/mechanical aptitude

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, loud noise, and outdoor conditions
• Must wear protective equipment while on site
• Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with motor control circuits and relay logic
• Able to prioritize tasks and work as a team member or individually

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform all job functions including walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, and climbing
• Heavy work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Regularly required to talk and hear to communicate and operate safely around heavy equipment
• Additional physical requirements as needed for job duties
