Full time position available at a growing and progressive private practice in Connersville, IN. Connersville is a great community for outdoor activities as it is located along the Whitewater River and a short 15-minute drive to Brookville Reservoir. The town is conveniently located between Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Dayton. We are currently averaging 180 new patients a month between our three locations, on track for double digit growth. *Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, diagnosing and treating visual disorders, and ensuring optimal patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care systems, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
*Duties*
* Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
* Interpret diagnostic tests and determine appropriate treatment plans.
* Provide patient education on eye health, corrective lenses, and preventive care.
* Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with medical coding standards.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
* Demonstrate aseptic technique during procedures to ensure patient safety.
* Participate in succession planning by mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development.
*Requirements*
* Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
* Valid state license to practice optometry.
* Proficiency in medical terminology related to eye care.
* Strong knowledge of patient care systems and senior care practices is preferred.
* Experience in sales or customer service within a healthcare setting is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
* Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance in all aspects of practice.
*Patient Care Hours*
Tuesday: 8:30am-7:00pm
Wednesday: 8:30am-5:00pm
Thursday: 8:30am-5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am-5:00pm
We schedule patients every 20 minutes with a 1 hour lunch. Doctors will be assisted with a pre-testing technician, and will have use of an Optos, Maestro OCT, NCT, and Auto-K/Autorefractor. We use Revolution EHR for our medical record keeping. Hours are negotiable.
