Overview

The incumbent works for the Fredericksburg Health Care System (FxHCC) in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as a direct report to the Mental Health Service, and is assigned to the outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP). The incumbent is a critical member of the outpatient SATP, providing care coordination, assessment, and treatment to Veterans seeking services for substance use disorders (SUD).

Responsibilities

• The incumbent independently conducts screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial SUD assessments, formulates diagnostic impressions, facilitates treatment planning, and provides evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals, families, couples and groups.
• The incumbent is expected to use both Evidence Based Psychotherapy (EBP) and Evidence Based Psychosocial Interventions (EBPI) and evidence-informed psychosocial interventions, as part of their clinical work with Veterans and families.
