Overview

Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist II (Richmond) at Rosendin. The IT Support Specialist II is responsible for IT support for the Regional Office and may be asked to support surrounding Regional Offices. This includes, but is not limited to, job sites in several locations.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide end‑user support and problem resolution including but not limited to AD accounts, mobile devices (cell phones/tablets), desktop and laptop computers, printers and other peripheral hardware, and software applications.
  • Utilize the ticketing system to document work and facilitate communication with clients.
  • Adapt to the demands of Rosendin users across field personnel, office employees, and all levels of management, up to senior level as needed.
  • Cover the HelpDesk phone queue when required.
  • Assist with implementation, configuration, coordination, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring, and development of specialized systems and procedures.
  • Provide project management for new job site setups, including assessing IT support requirements, circuit ordering, equipment ordering and delivery, and ongoing support during the life of the job site.
  • Provide tier 1 local network and server support for assigned offices and job sites.
  • Act as an escalation point for junior IT staff and escalate higher‑level issues to IT Support Specialist 3 and/or Lead as appropriate.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills, with ability to focus on customer issues in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize needs.
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic, fast‑paced, team environment; capable of working independently when needed.
  • Maintains technical competencies by staying current with new technologies.
  • Proficient at troubleshooting issues over the phone, via remote assistance tools, and in person.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Team player with strong communication and customer service skills; able to stay on task when working independently.
  • Organizes and manages multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Networking, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Mobile Device Management, Cloud Storage, Local Server, Remote Software, Cyber Security, Conference Room AV, Cisco VOIP, and Video Conferencing software.
  • Experience using an enterprise ticketing system.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
  • Self‑starter, proactive, and able to interface with end users to prioritize issues and manage expectations.
  • Proficient at documenting processes and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with a positive attitude and flexible priorities.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Experience configuring iOS devices is required.
  • Experience with Cisco network equipment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective follow‑up system for timely and accurate information requests.
  • Engineering and Construction industry knowledge desired; system administration and support experience would be helpful.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and a strong team player.

What You Bring To Us

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer/Information Science, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3+ years of practical IT experience required.

Travel

  • Up to 25% of your time (mostly regional job sites).

Working Conditions

  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; can be loud on job sites.
