Job Purpose

We are looking for an IT Support Technician to join our Global Business Systems and IT team. You would be responsible for acting as the point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s end-user computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all end-user devices and equipment to ensure optimal performance. You will also be responsible for some financial administration such as purchasing of IT equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Administration and Procurement
  • Managing procurement of approved IT related equipment including purchase order requisitions
  • Maintaining accuracy of records in Active Directory
  • Assisting in helpdesk and cyber security incident related reporting
  • Recording purchased licensing details
  • Operations
  • Basic PC imaging and profile setup for new computers
  • Basic software installations and deployment to PCs
  • Patching of network devices
  • Monitoring of helpdesk tickets and managing escalations to required IT teams or 3rd parties
  • General user account administration on various systems
  • Mobile phone administration

Qualifications

  • College diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications in IT related subjects would be advantageous (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft MCE).

  • Good technical knowledge of current network and PC operating systems
  • Knowledge and experience of Windows PCs and Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of and experience with Office applications
  • PC troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
  • Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize and execute tasks
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong customer-service orientation

Working conditions

Work is usually performed in an office during regular working hours. Occasional travel is required. Some overtime and off-hour work is expected for this position.

Physical requirements

The ability to travel on business to Instron offices and manufacturing facilities worldwide.

Compensation Information

This position has a starting salary range of $71,000 to $76,000 per year. Pay is determined by several factors, including a candidate’s experience, relevant skills, and qualifications.
