Field Technician
HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Dearborn, MI is looking for a Field Technician to work at various customer locations, and to join their safety conscious team! This team member supports the technical aspects of day-to-day operations at a plant-level facility. This role is based in a large industrial paint facility, which includes both cleanroom areas and more rugged, dirty environments. The position requires extensive walking, as well as climbing stairs and ladders. The Field Technician serves as representative of HPC-Industrial in creating a continuous working relationship with clients/customers. Collect operational data, including water chemistry measurements (TSS, pH, turbidity, conductivity, etc.). Monitor and adjust equipment setpoints. Inspect and replace chemical or paint totes as needed. Enter data into databases and tracking tools. Develop and maintain plant data boards, including troubleshooting issues and creating/tracking countermeasures. Prepare and deliver daily and weekly reports. Perform other related tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications:
Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training and essential experience gained on other jobs; Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations; Valid driver license and other requirements of company's driving policy required when driving company vehicle or using personal vehicle on company business; OSHA certification may be required for this job; Must be knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers; May have to provide Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC). What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial? High School diploma or equivalent (required); Mechanically inclined with experience in technical or industrial work. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Ability to climb ladders and work around industrial equipment. Must be comfortable working in a large industrial paint facility that requires frequent walking, standing, and exposure to varied environments (clean and dirty areas).
