Our client is seeking a highly skilled and certified Structural Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial building design and review. This individual must hold a Structural Engineer (SE) certification and demonstrate strong technical, analytical, and communication capabilities. The ideal candidate will be experienced with steel frame, concrete frame, and pre-engineered building systems and will be comfortable interfacing with diverse stakeholders across multiple projects. This is a 40/hr/week role and will not require heavy or overnight travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of commercial building types, including steel and concrete frame systems, and pre-engineered buildings.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with industry codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Stamp and seal engineering documents as a licensed PE and SE.
- Provide clear and actionable written feedback and comments on reviewed projects.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment across disciplines.
- Utilize Excel to perform structural calculations, generate reports, and manage data-driven tasks.
- Proactively manage communication among multiple internal and external stakeholders, adapting to varied personalities and communication styles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Active SE certification required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on commercial construction.
- Proficient in structural design codes and standards.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for structural calculations and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities and manage communications across multiple parties.
