Job Summary
Bancroft Construction Services specializes in delivering environmentally responsible construction solutions that balance infrastructure development with ecological protection. We are seeking a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) to support our environmental compliance team in ensuring stormwater pollution prevention measures are implemented effectively on active construction sites.
As a QSD, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You’ll play a critical role in supporting construction teams, protecting sensitive resources, and maintaining project timelines while meeting regulatory requirements.
Location:
Remote 50-75%, site visits 25-50% in the
Southern California Region.
Key Responsibilities Develop, update, and certify SWPPPs in compliance with state and federal stormwater regulations. Conduct site evaluations and risk assessments to determine appropriate Best Management Practices (BMPs). Oversee implementation of stormwater management measures on active construction sites. Perform routine site inspections, audits, and water quality sampling as required. Train field staff on stormwater compliance and BMP installation/maintenance. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and environmental staff to ensure compliance throughout all phases of construction. Prepare inspection reports, compliance documentation, and regulatory submittals. Track corrective actions and provide recommendations for adaptive management.
Qualifications Current QSD certification (required). Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Biology, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in stormwater compliance, construction site inspections, or environmental management. MS4 permit consulting experience Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local stormwater regulations (e.g., CGP, NPDES, CWA). Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate with diverse project teams. Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
Pay:
Starting salary of $85,000/annually
