JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Trade Compliance Specialist Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring adherence to international trade regulations, company policies, and industry standards for import and export activities. This position is responsible for auditing import and export transactions, reviewing documentation, and verifying compliance with trade control laws, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and 19 CFR regulations. The specialist works to mitigate risks, maintain regulatory compliance, and support efficient global trade operations.
Responsibilities: Manage the customs broker overview and audit process. Maintain all recordkeeping for both imports and exports, as well as export licensing. Audit all AES filings to ensure compliance. Effectively perform classification audits (ITAR, EAR, HTS, and Schedule B) Analyze shipping records, invoices, and compliance documentation to ensure import and export declarations are completed accurately and timely. Partner with senior personnel in the review and investigation of incidents to resolve compliance matters. Manage the recordkeeping and auditing of our export licenses through SNAP-R Run reports in ACE and perform post entry audit activities as well as post export audit activities. Identify areas of improvement to implement changes in alignment with compliance guidelines and meet company cost saving initiatives. Maintain and manage all classification, entry, and training records. Collaborate and provide support to the Compliance team. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (especially Excel for analysis, create reports, and presentations) Strong communication, and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline driven environment. Ability to apply regulatory concepts to daily work autonomously. Strong attention to detail, ability to analyze data and draw conclusions. Excellent verbal, and written communicator Ability to work independently, or as a team.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 1-2 years of experience working in trade compliance or related industry Experience conducting audits. Knowledge of Foreign Trade Regulations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Regulations Knowledge of INCOTERMS
