GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Under the direction of the QA Manager, the FSQA Import/Export & 3rd Party Warehouses Supervisor, will be the primary contact for the Import/Export USDA Inspectors and will work as a liaison between TFI USA and 3rd party warehouses where TFI product is stored. This person will oversee and be responsible for the foreign inventory stored at 3rd party warehouses and will ensure that those warehouses are operating under the USDA process for all inbound products. This role will supervise the Import/Export technician who will support the USDA import/export processes and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as the liaison between Thomas Foods International USA and the USDA Supervise the Import/Export technician on the following activities: Monitoring of all safety concerns on the dock Ensure employees are following GMPs Coordinate with Orders team and CSR about containers and documentation Maintain and review all documentation for Imports Communicate via email and verbally of any issues with containers Monitor the USDA sampling and lab releases Ensure containers are properly stamped completed Maintain HOLD program for containers Assist QA technicians that handle inbounds and outbounds Monitor the Lumpers to ensure containers are being unloaded properly Handle all paperwork for Inbounds TFI USA and 3PL Coach, direct and train the Import/Export technician to perform internal audits Partner with the Procurement Warehouse manager to ensure proper operations and inventory controls of 3rd party Warehouses Supervise the Import/Export technician on Receiving and Inspections of containers Perform Goods for Sale Inspections; assist in Consumer Complaints, and 3PL inspections as needed Place product on HOLD that needs to be re-worked or is contaminated, as necessary Notify FSQA Management of product on HOLD; monitor and report the daily operations throughout the dock Supervise the Import/Export technician on timely container unloading and increase efficiency on dock Other activities which will be required, within scope and ability, pertaining to improving efficiency for import containers or activities assigned by FSQA Management
JOB REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of experience in a USDA manufacturing role in a fast paced, food manufacturing environment Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred Meat exposure / meat experience a plus HACCP Certified Strong knowledge of SQF, Halal and Organic certification programs Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook; able to complete formulas, graphs, charts, and reporting functions using data Ability to clearly speak, read, and write in English; bilingual in Spanish a plus Excels as a team player and provides leadership to other quality technicians Ability to multitask and meet deadlines Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International USA
