DarrowEverett LLP is looking for a Trust & Estates Attorney for our Boston or Providence offices with immediate availability. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm, always, in ways that enhance its reputation.

Role & Responsibilities Provide legal guidance and advice to clients on estate planning, business formation, special needs planning, high net worth estate planning, and related areas of law. Draft legal documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and other estate planning and business succession documents. Drafting sophisticated estate and tax planning documents, such as SLATs, IDGTs, charitable remainder and lead trusts, and decanting instruments. Representing personal representatives and trusts before probate and family courts, on a variety of estate, trust and guardianship matters. Assist clients in creating and implementing strategies to protect and preserve assets. Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures. Legal and tax research.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and J.D. Degree Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in trust and estate matters, business formation, and related areas of law, including high net worth estate planning. The ideal candidate will have experience working directly with high-net-worth clients on estate preservation and planning strategies, including preparing revocable and irrevocable trusts for asset protection and tax strategies, and managing reorganization of asset ownership. Handling surrogate court proceedings. Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to organize factual and legal data into clear and logical arguments. Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis. An active license as an attorney in Massachusetts. Active licenses in Florida and Rhode Island are a plus. A high degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion. Organization and time management skills.
