Are you a hands-on scientist with a passion for flavor innovation and process development? A well-established flavor and fragrance manufacturer client is seeking a Citrus Technology Scientist to join its R&D and production team in Florida. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of natural product chemistry, pilot-scale manufacturing, and global flavor development.

Responsibilities

Lead development and optimization of citrus-based flavor ingredients Translate lab-scale innovations into scalable manufacturing processes Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation (GC, HPLC, etc.) Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot production and scale-up challenges Support quality control and ensure compliance with safety protocols Contribute to equipment design and process engineering for natural product extraction and separation Occasionally travel (up to 5%) to partner sites for technical support and deployment Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or related field 5–10 years of experience in flavor manufacturing, process development, or product commercialization

Required Skills Strong working knowledge of lab instrumentation and pilot plant operations Quick learner with an adaptable, collaborative mindset

Preferred Skills Direct citrus experience is a plus, but candidates from broader flavor backgrounds are encouraged to apply Pay range and compensation package Compensation: $90K+ base salary (DOE) Bonus: 5% annual performance bonus Benefits: Vision, dental, 401K match, annual salary increases, 3 weeks PTO, 8 paid holidays, potential year-end shutdown Relocation: Open to relocation for the right candidate
