Senior Flexographic Press Operator

to run and maintain narrow web flexographic printing presses at our

North Hill, CA

facility. This role is integral to our commitment to quality, consistency, and innovation across high-impact markets including food & beverage, personal care, health, nutraceutical, and industrial segments.

As a Senior Pressman, you will be responsible for independently setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing high-speed narrow web presses to meet tight production deadlines while maintaining impeccable print standards. Ideal candidates will possess deep knowledge of press mechanics, web tension management, ink systems, die-cutting, and lean manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete autonomous setup and teardown

of flexographic presses, including plate mounting, anilox selection, web alignment, ink management (UV/solvent), tension adjustments, and die station calibration.

Operate and maintain narrow web central impression and inline presses, such as

Mark Andy Performance Series, Nilpeter FB-Line, Gallus ECS , or equivalent.

Proactively manage and troubleshoot complex printing issues including ghosting, gear marks, ink adhesion, registration drift, and die scoring.

Interpret detailed job dockets, color targets (PMS matching), and press specifications to ensure output meets client and industry standards.

Collaborate with production planners, prepress, quality control, and maintenance to ensure optimal scheduling and uptime.

Lead and mentor junior operators or press assistants to improve team efficiency and elevate print quality.

Conduct in-process and final quality inspections, ensuring compliance with ISO/TS and customer-specific standards.

Maintain accurate job records, downtime logs, and continuous improvement documentation through ERP/MIS systems (e.g., Label Traxx, EFI Radius).

Qualifications/Skills:

Minimum

57 years

of hands-on experience operating

narrow web flexographic presses

in a high-volume label manufacturing environment.

Technical proficiency with

multi-station UV flexo ,

reverse and front printing ,

cold foil ,

lamination , and

inline die-cutting (link removed)>

Deep understanding of ink rheology, anilox roll specifications (BCM/LPI), and drying/curing profiles.

Familiarity with substrates including BOPP, PET, paper, film, and foil.

Exposure to digital/flexo hybrid platforms a plus (e.g., Mark Andy Digital Series).

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read schematics and diagnose equipment issues.

Certification in

5S, Lean, or Six Sigma Green Belt

preferred.

High school diploma or GED required; trade school or print-specific certification (e.g., FTA FIRST Level III) strongly preferred.

Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work overtime or alternate shifts as production requires.

Salary/Benefits:

$25$32/hr base

depending on experience, plus
