About the Opportunity
UVA Health is seeking a
Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist
to join our expanding
UVA Community Health Cancer Service Line
in Northern Virginia. Based primarily at
UVA Culpeper Medical Center
and
UVA Gainesville Cancer Center , this position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality hematology and oncology care across multiple community locations, supported by the strength of the
University of Virginia’s academic medical center . This is a
growth position
designed to meet the increasing demand for advanced cancer care in Northern Virginia. Practice Highlights
Practice Setting:
Outpatient, hospital-based, single-specialty group Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (flexible 4-day workweek available) Call:
1:6, providing nightly and weekend cross-coverage for UVA Culpeper, Prince William, and Haymarket Medical Centers Clinical Volume:
15–20 clinic patients per day; average annual wRVUs ~5,500 Case Mix:
50% oncology / 50% hematology Hospital Census:
Average 0–2 patients daily when rounding Procedures:
Bone marrow biopsies (approx. 20 per year) Virtual Health:
Telemedicine and virtual consults integrated into practice Support Team:
Advanced Practice Clinicians (consult only), plus robust ancillary support including nutrition, social work, chaplaincy, smoking cessation, and patient advocacy services Teaching Opportunities:
Engagement with UVA Hematology/Oncology fellows (0–2 per year rotate through) Qualifications
MD/DO with Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia Strong interest in delivering
state-of-the-art cancer care
