Overview The Fitness Director position is a high-profile leadership position that is responsible for helping the Executive Director with the overall direction, coordination, operation, and success of the Department. You will ensure the Department meets or exceeds financial goals, while providing remarkable leadership in areas of member experience, team member experience, new membership growth, in-Branch business performance, and member participation.
Responsibilities
Scout talent, interviews and trains new instructors and personal trainers (assisting with their certification process, new procedures, policies, programs and services). Provides feedback and tools to help team members improve their skill sets, with follow-up Develops positive relationships with members and team members while building communities Performance manages team members with timely and clean discussions regarding developmental opportunities and strengths Optimizes schedule operations while driving business and member experience Keep abreast and understand the related industry current market situations Manages a budget and delivers on target participation expectations Teaches classes as needed Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in recreation, exercise science, human services, or equivalent experience Experience as a supervisor and staff development is strongly preferred Current Personal Training certification preferred, or acquired within 90 days of employment
