A respected and long-standing general contractor in the Madison market is seeking an analytical and proactive Estimator to join their team. With a strong presence across healthcare, education, civic, and commercial construction, this firm is known for delivering complex, high-profile projects with a focus on collaboration, safety, and long-term client relationships. Their portfolio includes multimillion-dollar builds that have a lasting impact on the community.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual design through final bid
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to determine project scope and requirements
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
- Develop quantity takeoffs, pricing, and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and clients to ensure accurate budgets and schedules
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks during preconstruction
- Support business development efforts by contributing to proposal preparation and presentations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator on commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
