Monitor contractor activities, ensure compliance with design documents, and verify quality of work.
Manage change orders, review project documentation, and maintain compliance with state and federal requirements.
Lead and mentor inspection and field staff, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and progress reporting.
Act as the key liaison with state transportation officials, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve disputes and drive project success.
Ensure jobsite safety for all personnel and the traveling public.
Review contractor operations for CAL-OSHA compliance.
Oversee materials testing and inspection activities.
Job Details 10+ years of relevant experience in construction management, including Resident Engineer or equivalent roles.
Minimum 5 years as a Resident Engineer on California state highway projects of $30M+ value.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Deep knowledge of Caltrans standards, specifications, and practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
