We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and staff support to Learning for Life and additional departments as needed to ensure efficient operations. You will work closely with various team members, assisting with tasks that are vital to our team’s success. In this role, responsibilities may include preparing presentations, budgets, project schedules, and statistical reports; administering programs, projects, and processes specific to the team served; and serving as a liaison within and outside the organization on administrative matters such as purchasing, personnel, facilities, and operations. May also perform specialized services such as mail distribution, reception, filing, or data entry. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications is required to be successful in this role. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director Learning for Life & Older Youth Programs.
Responsibilities
- Greets visitors and answers phones. Regularly interacts with internal or external customers, management, or executives to answer questions and supply information. Uses discretion when handling confidential information.
- Schedules meetings and travel arrangements. Maintains department budgets, calendars, forms, and office supplies. Produces correspondence, presentations, reports, and other materials. Distributes mail and reports.
- Provides research on special projects and assignments. Assists management with problem resolution and communications. Serves as a backup to other administrative support.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of: General office procedures; department policies and procedures; customer service etiquette.
- Skill in: Managing work; customer focus; continuous learning; communication; collaborating; operating a personal computer and standard software, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Adobe Pro.
- Ability to: Adapt; earn trust; maintain a positive approach; and tolerate stress.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field preferred.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in office assistance.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.

Preference
Experience in Scouting America and Learning for Life Programs is preferred but not required. This would include general and/or specific knowledge of Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, and Exploring.
