The Data Analyst will lead data collection, analysis, and visualization efforts across all agency programs. This role includes creating data visualizations and infographics that help inform program decisions, program data utilization, continuous quality improvement efforts and the community assessment process. The Data Analyst will stay informed about the latest research and best practices in data collection, evaluation, and data systems. This role is essential to ensuring data integrity across multiple systems and translating complex data into actionable insights for internal and external use.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate capacity for supporting developmentally sensitive, evidence-based, culturally sensitive, hope-centered, and trauma-informed programs.
  • Design and implement data collection systems and tools across all programs, including aggregate and maintenance of data bases.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, accuracy, and timely entry across platforms.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting systems for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify and discuss trends, gaps, and opportunities with program leadership and staff.
  • Create and deliver compelling data visualizations, infographics, and reports tailored to diverse audiences and funding sources that Excommunicate findings, strategies, and recommendations.
  • Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights for program leaders and community partners.
  • Collaborate with program teams to support the data utilization cycle and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Support compliance monitoring efforts by preparing reports and summaries for the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of program evaluations and outcome measurement strategies.
  • Support the community assessment process and design with relevant data and analysis.
  • Recommend and implement innovative and streamlined approaches to data collection and analysis across agency program areas.
  • Provide training and support to staff on data tools and procedures.
  • Serve as a data liaison across programs, fostering a culture of data informed decision making.
  • Present findings to leadership, funders, and stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Stay current on best practices in data analytics, early childhood education, human services, and nonprofit evaluation.
  • Represent Sunbeam in a professional manner, which may include community interactions, consultation and education to staff and community partners, and presentations (including media and in person), etc.
  • Knowledgeable of agency policies and procedures and compliance with agency accrediting and oversight bodies, including but not limited to Head Start and COA.
  • Adhere to the Sunbeam Code of Ethics, HIPAA, and other confidentiality policies/practices while maintaining professional standards at all time.
  • Travel locally as required in the performance of responsibilities.
  • Perform other appropriate and related responsibilities as assigned by supervisor, Senior Program Director, or Executive Team member.

Job Qualifications

  • Education
    Minimum Requirement-Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Public Health, Education, Social Work, or related field
    Preferred-Masters Degree in Data Science, Public Health, Education, Social Work, or related field
  • Experience
    Two (2) years of experience in data systems, data collection, and high level data analysis, preferably in a nonprofit, early childhood, and/or human services setting.
  • Skills
    Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Crystal Reports)
    Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer operations and applications, including Microsoft, and the ability to master other computer technology / software programs as required.
    Ability to adapt to evolving needs and respond to urgent priorities.
