This role supports kitchen operations, food prep, and service in a fast-paced environment such as a cafeteria, dining hall, or commercial kitchen. Responsibilities: Assist with basic food preparation including slicing, assembling, and portioning ingredients Serve meals and beverages accurately and efficiently, following portion control guidelines Set up, maintain, and break down food stations, dining areas, and service lines Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all food service areas, including kitchen surfaces and equipment Restock supplies such as utensils, condiments, and disposable items throughout the shift Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations during food handling and storage Work closely with kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations Assist with dishwashing and trash removal as needed Provide friendly and respectful service to guests, customers, or staff Report any equipment issues, supply shortages, or safety concerns promptly

Skills: Able to follow verbal and written instructions accurately Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs Good communication skills and a helpful, customer-first attitude Willingness to take direction and adapt to changing needs throughout the shift

Requirements: Must wear clean, slip-resistant closed-toe shoes Hair must be neatly tied back or covered per food safety guidelines Maintain a clean and presentable appearance throughout the shift No jewelry, artificial nails, or nail polish per food handling policies Follow all hygiene protocols including regular handwashing Comply with any client-specific uniform or dress code requirements

***General Requirements*** Event Staff/Food Service When working in Event Staff or Food Service Position through Bluecrew, you may be expected to do any and all of the following: Working independently or in a team to cook, prepare, serve, or transport food items Engaging with customers while operating a point of sale machine or cash register in a professional and courteous manner Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, or other items at the start or end of your shift Work on your feet, either stationary or constantly moving for the full shift Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities at times, as required by the immediate supervisor Comfortable working in a busy and at times hectic environment There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants. Note for that for any event staff position that requires handling food, you will need to follow GMP guidelines which include keeping your hair up, neatly trimmed fingernails, and you may be required to cover any facial hair.
