Material Handler - San Diego, CA
Performs material handling, packing, and miscellaneous warehouse duties. Responsibilities include: acting in a safe manner at all times, delivering and picking up materials for production work centers per schedule using material handling equipment, preparing freight for shipment by palletizing, banding, boxing, and stretch wrapping as required, breaking down packaging and putting away incoming raw material rolls, maintaining warehouse cleanliness utilizing manual and powered floor cleaning equipment, emptying work centers waste receptacles and operating compacting equipment, carrying out cycle counts as directed by the Inventory Control Specialist, supporting requests for taking samples or pulling material for evaluation, and loading and unloading delivery trucks. Non-essential responsibilities include performing other duties as required and necessary. Requirements: high school diploma or GED required, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work overtime as required, strong reading, writing, and math abilities, previous shipping/receiving or material handling experience preferred, and prior forklift experience preferred. Physical demands include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, talking or hearing, reaching with hands and arms, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. The work environment includes working near moving equipment, maneuvering lift equipment in confined spaces, and operating turret trucks at heights of up to 30 feet in a loud noise level. Pay range: $18.00 to $28.00 per hour, plus 2nd shift differential of $1.00/hr. The hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized) is $43,472 to $66,352. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee. Additional pay incentives include shift differentials, standard overtime, health and wellbeing benefits, paid time off, retirement and protection plans, and additional benefits such as commuter benefits, group legal, identity theft protection, and more.
