The Hospital Sanitation Specialist is responsible for the removal and transport of all recycling and waste which includes solid waste, regulated medical waste, universal waste, pharmaceutical, and RCRA/hazardous waste. What you will do: You will be familiar with and adhere to policies related to storage, handling, and disposal of RMW (regulated medical waste), RCRA/Hazmat, solid waste, and universal waste. You will maintain your Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazardous Waste training. You will clean waste holding and storage areas regularly. You will deliver clean linen to appropriate locations and remove soiled linens as needed. You will also help with the cleaning and preparing rooms before and after patients are discharged from the hospital. You will be familiar with safety and sanitation requirements of a healthcare facility You will appropriately utilize various supplies and resources to maintain a clean environment for all staff, patients, and visitors within the hospital. You will store, handle, and dispose of materials and supplies used to perform your duties within the hospital and industry standards. This could include Hazmat, solid waste, and soiled linens. You will be interacting with patients, families, visitors, and other hospital staff as you perform your duties. What qualifications you will need:
High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred Experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred At least 1 year of professional housekeeping or janitor experience preferred Trident Health is a 445-bed HCA Healthcare hospital system comprised of two acute care hospitals, Trident Medical Center and Summerville Medical Center and three freestanding emergency departments, Brighton Park Emergency, Moncks Corner Medical Center and Centre Pointe Emergency.
