Position: Electrician
About the role
This position is responsible for the installation of plant electrical equipment, ensuring proper electrical functioning of plant equipment, tools and machinery, troubleshooting electrical malfunctions, and completing necessary repairs and maintenance.
What you’ll accomplish
- Install electrical equipment and components including conductors, instrumentation, lighting, motors, controls, wiring, relays, transformers and conduit in accordance with the National Electric Code.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems in a systematic, logical manner to determine causes and steps for repairs.
- Perform necessary preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation installations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings.
- Calibrate and adjust electrical/electronic equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Use the SAP system to document work progress and communicate status; identify support needed for completion.
- Perform annual ground resistance testing.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment and compressed air drying equipment.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Comply with company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Respond to call-outs during non-work hours as needed.
- Assist in estimating material requirements and requisitioning materials as needed.
- Contribute to health, safety and environmental policy adherence and promote a culture of safety.
What we’re looking for
- Associate’s degree or completion of technical school and apprenticeship program, or equivalent in training, experience and education.
- Working knowledge of NEC code, electrical standards, pressure and temperature transmitters, PLCs, AC and DC drives, motors and controls.
- At least 3 years of industrial experience in electrical support and maintenance.
- Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA safety requirements related to electrical operations and components.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; willingness to travel to other quarry sites regionally.
- Willingness to work overtime, including possible weekend and night shifts.

- Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved PPE, including respirators where applicable. Employees required to wear respirators must meet fit-test requirements.
