Crane Operator
Help operate cranes to move ammunition, missiles, heavy equipment, machinery beams, lumber, crated or packed material, and similar items. Maintain crane equipment, performing tasks such as replacing spark plugs and fan belts, and cleaning and lubricating parts of cranes. Provide and implement plans to ensure material handling equipment (MHE) and ordnance handling equipment (OHE) are certified, inspected, and tested in accordance with appropriate regulations. Receive, examine, segregate, process, store, and issue fleet returned ordnance materials of all types. Ensure conformance to all specified technical requirements and safety of ordnance material and operations. Requirements include being a US Citizen, determined suitable for federal employment, participating in the direct deposit pay program, and successfully passing the E-Verify employment verification check. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. This is a bargaining unit position requiring a SECRET security clearance, successful completion of a pre-appointment physical examination, and signing a DD-Form-2760. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required, and you will be subject to random testing. This position may require travel and is Mission Essential. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CDL-A license, have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination, and be able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment continuously for the duration of the work shift. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present. Qualifications emphasize the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. This job does not have an education qualification requirement. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
