We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Computer Teacher/IT Support Specialist to join our school. This dual role position requires a passionate educator with strong technical skills, capable of both teaching students and supporting staff with the integration and effective use of technology in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be experienced with school-based applications, student iPads, and Rediker/PowerSchool, and will be comfortable training teachers and working with students across grade levels. The IT Support Specialist performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami and Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School.

Responsibilities include:

Teaching Duties

  • Design and deliver engaging elective computer and technology classes for students.
  • Teach students foundational and advanced computer skills, including digital citizenship, coding, productivity tools, and creative software.
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy.

IT Support & Integration

  • Provide first-line support for student and teacher devices, primarily iPads and related classroom technology.
  • Manage and troubleshoot classroom technology including interactive displays, printers, and educational software.
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of student iPads and school technology infrastructure.

Staff Training & Support

  • Train and support staff in the effective use of technology in instruction, including best practices for integrating educational apps and tools.
  • Lead professional development sessions and create user-friendly guides or tutorials.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers to troubleshoot issues and maximize the use of technology in the classroom.

Administrative Technology

  • Support the use and management of the school’s SIS and other school-based platforms (grading, attendance, communication, etc.).
  • Collaborate with school leadership to improve workflows and implement technology-based solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in an educational setting providing technical support and training for students and faculty.
  • Strong working knowledge of Rediker, PowerSchool, Schoology, Clever, iPads, and common educational apps/platforms (Google Workspace for Education, etc.).
  • Experience managing Apple School Manager or similar device management tools, preferred.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity’s best practices in educational settings, preferred.
  • Comfort with both hardware and software troubleshooting, preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented school environment.
