Job Requirements: Certain roles at Tyson require background checks. Position Summary: This position is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment throughout the plant. Responsibilities include completing preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, installing and maintaining hydraulic equipment, pumps, motors, and cylinders, and installing and maintaining utility equipment including boilers, compressors, HVAC systems, and cooling towers. Troubleshoot and repair electrical or mechanical equipment, change out and setup equipment, complete prefabrication related tasks and run machine shop equipment, keep all work areas clean, comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements, perform all positions of job rotation as needed, and perform any other work as assigned by management. Requirements include the ability and willingness to perform basic math functions, work overtime and/or weekends as needed, work on demand in emergency situations, work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, complete all paperwork CMMS/SAP functions, push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 40 pounds frequently, lift with arms up to floor to waist and waist to shoulder up to 40 pounds, use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination simultaneously, reach high and low levels frequently, stand/stoop/walk/bend up to 10 hours, climb stairs, and work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 10 degrees. Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).
